“Tis better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all”. ~ Alfred Lord Tennyson
Kintsugi is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery by mending the areas of breakage with lacquer dusted or mixed with powdered gold, silver, or platinum. While the art is directly related to pottery, I think there is a life lesson in there: there is life, beauty, and purpose after broken - even after shattering. Arguably, it is these very fractures and breaks that make the thing more beautiful and are to be celebrated.
Take the Risk soap is my spin on the art of Kintsugi and matter of the heart. Handcrafted and small batch made, this soap is scented with a spicy blend of sandalwood, cedarwood, and black pepper and is packed full of moisturizing shea and cocoa butters, skin loving avocado and olive oils. Because life doesn’t end, even after a broken heart.
To use: wet soap and work up a good lather. Apply soap to wet skin and scrub like your mama taught you! Rinse off. While it looks and smells delicious, please do not eat or ingest. Avoid contact with eyes; flush well with water if contact occurs. Discontinue use in the event of skin irritation. Store soap on a vented, draining soap dish and allow it to dry between uses for the longest lasting bar possible!
